Confirmation

While Bar/ Bat Mitzvah marks a personal status in Judaism with an emphasis on the individual, Confirmation marks the completion of a course of study as a class, with a group celebration. Confirmation is celebrated each year near Shavuot with participation in the Main Sanctuary service by the class and sponsorship of a congregational luncheon. Students are assigned parts in the service, teach a lesson to the congregation, and “confirm” their allegiance to Temple Beth Hillel-Beth El and the Jewish People.

Confirmation Class meets monthly. Rabbi Witkovsky, Hazzan Rosner, Lisa Richman and Hallie CHandler take different responsibilities in the class.  

Members of the Confirmation Class have the opportunity to travel to Israel for two weeks each December, together with students from Confirmation Classes of other local synagogues.
