Throughout the month, we will be sending out emails to help our community prepare. The emails will each include a special melody selected by the Hazzan and a reflection about Elul from one of our community leaders. We hope that these melodies and reflections help you in your own spiritual preparations during this season.
We look forward to spending the holy days with you.

Elul Reflection From Joel Freedman, TBH-BE President
My affiliation with Temple Beth Hillel–Beth El began when our two children attended the ECC over 20 years ago. My family’s special connection to our synagogue has helped both children become compassionate and caring adults and has enabled Sharon and me to make lifelong friendships. We have had many memorable and meaningful experiences over the years, and I know many of you have had the same. Additionally, in my brief tenure as President, I have seen first-hand the wide range of events that our congregation has enjoyed – our religious school opening day which was celebrated by over 200 parents and their kids; the wonderful dinner with our vibrant L’Chaim group; a rocking concert by Rick Recht; and the new member Shabbat, where I was fortunate to meet some of our newest congregants – to highlight just a few!
My goal for this new year and for the future of our shul will be to continue to help provide our families with the spiritual, educational, and personal experiences that add meaning to our lives. I look forward to working with our entire congregation over the next year to ensure that Temple Beth Hillel-Beth El’s future will be a bright one, and that this Rosh Hashanah signifies a time of hope, peace and prosperity for all of us.
