Friends,

We are in the midst of sending our our annual Membership packets. For anyone that is new to our community, this packet includes a letter from our President, our membership commitment form, our Yizkor Book form, and the Sisterhood New Year's Greeting booklet. Our Guest Ticket form for the High Holidays is currently on a hiatus as we work to determine what the High Holiday services will look like this year. Stay tuned for a survey coming to you shortly asking for your feedback on the Chagim (holidays). When you receive your membership packet, we hope that you will send your commitment form back and that you will continue to be a member of our congregation in the coming year.

As we are working on our Annual Meeting (July 8th, stay tuned!), I am thinking a lot about the importance of community and family. This past Friday night was our 7th Grade Shabbat, celebrating the end of Religious School for my daughter's class. This has obviously been an emotional and strange year, to say the least, but during the year and throughout this crisis, I have been blessed to be able to celebrate the B'nai Mitzvah of so many incredible kids that I have been watching grow up and to share in the joy with friends that have become our family.

Family will be one of the themes of our Annual Meeting photo montage. We know that the people in our community are so much more than fellow congregants.  Please send me photos of your family with another family (or families) from the synagogue. This can be at a TBH-BE event, out at dinner, traveling together or just spending time with one another. We want to share them to show an important aspect of our synagogue.

You and your family matter to us. Our synagogue is far more than a membership organization, it is truly a Kehilla Kedosha, a holy community. Yesterday, we celebrated Pride Shabbat. While every week should be a Pride Shabbat and we hope that the LGBTQ community knows that we are a welcoming and safe place, it is also important to sometimes send a very transparent message so that people know that they have a place in our community. Our communications during this crisis have been designed to convey the message that you are important to us. I hope that we have demonstrated that to all of you over the past few months.

While we are in Phase Yellow, we are still shopping for people and providing tech support. If we can be of assistance, please do not hesitate to be in contact.

Wishing you a peaceful and meaningful week,

Ken
