To Our TBH-BE Family,

As we enter Jewish Disabilities, Acceptance, Awareness and Inclusion Month, it is a good opportunity to restate our values of being an inclusive community to all.

A core value of our community is the Jewish principle of kavod habriyot - the sacred duty to honor the inherent dignity of every human being. Our sages taught, "Gadol kavod habriyot she'docheh lo ta'aseh...Read more...

Shabbat Shalom,   One of the inspirations for this weekly email was Elli Weinstein (z"l). Each week on Friday, Elli, with her husband David, would send out a Shabbat message filled with beautiful images of her gardens in Israel and in Wynnewood. It has been a lovely way of welcoming in Shabbat. At the bottom of this email, please see some photos of flowers from our synagogue grounds that Elli was very involved in.  This week, we will be...Read more...

Friends,

Chag Sameach and Shabbat Shalom.

Please enjoy this week's video from Rabbi Witkovsky.

Thank you once again for all of those that have filled out our strategic planning survey. It will be kept open through Monday for anyone that still wishes to fill it out. On Tuesday, we begin to crunch data - and there is so much good data in here for us to look at, celebrate, and find ways to improve.

SHABBAT SHALOM!

Pardon my internet shouting, but even with everything going on in this world, there is a lot to be excited about and grateful for at TBH-BE. I am writing this immediately following our staff holiday lunch. I am so very thankful and privileged to work at this synagogue with a team of dedicated, loyal, and nice people – from our facilities staff, to our teachers, to our office and...Read more...

Shabbat Shalom,

As I have mentioned in previous years, the calendar has a weird quirk that the earliest sundown time is several weeks before the shortest day of the year, December 21st.  Tonight and next Shabbat are the earliest Shabbat candlelight times of the year. After this, our world will begin to stay brighter a little longer into the evening each night. As Hanukkah...Read more...

Happy Thanksgiving and a really early Shabbat Shalom,

Please watch out Pre-Thanksgiving/Pre-Shabbat video message from Rabbi Witkovsky, where he ties in this week's Torah portion to Thanksgiving.

In his video, Rabbi Witkovsky challenges each of us to find a way that we can help others take care of their physical needs: here are a few ways to do this with the synagogue and in the greater community:

Volunteer to box and...Read more...

Friends,

Shabbat Shalom and an early Happy Thanksgiving. I have shared in the past that Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. Freedom's Feast is an organization that I have shared in the past that creates rituals around American holidays and they have some good options for Thanksgiving.

Please enjoy Rabbi's Pre-Shabbat Message for this weekend

Fellow congregants:

We are literally counting the days until our incredible installation weekend, this Friday - Sunday, November 11-13. We have a few housekeeping items to share with you:

We are expecting very large crowds for each event this weekend and thank you in advance for being mindful of your own health as well as that of the entire congregation.  With the rise in flu cases in both adults and children, as well as a...Read more...

Friends, Shabbat Shalom.

I have to admit that my head is pulling me in many different directions with this email this week. By now, many of you have heard about the security threat to synagogues in New Jersey yesterday - please know that authorities have announced it has been resolved. Please still join us for our security drill tomorrow at noon (and for Shabbat services before hand and kiddush afterwards). We are living in a...Read more...
