Shabbat Shalom!

Please enjoy our pre-Shabbat video from Rabbi Witkovsky.

Quick random question - if we sold "See You in Shul" shirts with proceeds going to charity, would you be interested?

Rabbi Cooper has a new post up on our blog – My Zionist Statement at a Moment of Crisis for Israel.

Two quick reminders: The Washington University Jewish A Capella Group Staam is performing at TBH-BE tomorrow evening at 8pm. The group features our own Ben Miller. Come join us!  One week left until Joseph. Get your tickets today, in the past we have had a number of sold out shows, especially on the Sundays.

There are moments around this place that just make you say wow. Purim earlier this week was one of those times. Between the carnival, the sanctuary megillah reading, and the Havurah megillah reading and spiel – I believe there were over 500 people in attendance. Thank you to all of the volunteers and staff that made this happen! The events attracted different segments of our community and were incredibly fun and entertaining. Below you will find a few of the videos from the Havurah spiel. Unfortunately, the sound quality of the video from the sanctuary megillah reading was not very good, so we can’t share what was an amazing reading filled with voices, characters, and multiple hats. A special mazel tov to Katie Calabrese on winning our hamentashen bakeoff.

For me, Purim is directly connected now to Covid-19. Three years ago (to the day today), Purim was the last celebration we had before we closed the synagogue down. Much like in the story of Purim, we have needed to deal with uncertainty to come together to take care of one another. It is amazing to me to think about how much our community (and nation and world) have dealt with over the past three years and how far we have come. I genuinely believe that our community is stronger today than it was three years ago and that is thanks to our members willingness and dedication to step up. Thank you!!!

Wishing you a great week and looking forward to seeing you (at shul)!

Ken
