From Hallie's Desk
Whether it is on our birthday, during New Years or Rosh Hashanah, we are continuously given the opportunity to reflect and create life goals and projections for the subsequent coming year. Even with surprises, targets can still be reached, goals can still be attained and productivity can still be had. A commentary on Michah says: “Do not be daunted by the enormity of the world’s grief. Do justly, now. Love mercy, now. You are not obligated to complete the work, but neither are you free to abandon it.” This Wednesday night we will have the opportunity to analyze and celebrate the work we have done this year, as a synagogue, and I hope you will all join us. I encourage you all to consider future ways you can be involved in the work that is done and in the joy that can be achieved is had at Temple Beth Hillel-Beth El. Make it a goal of yours to do just one more thing with the shul this year that you had not done before and allow the synagogue to be a place where we accomplish justice and mercy for our souls, for our community, and for the world around us.
