From Hallie's Desk
From the Virtual Talent show and Lag Ba’omer celebration to yoga, watercolor classes and the drive-through events, we have continued to bring celebration, joy and learning to all of you and I wanted to thank the instructors, participants, volunteers and staffers who made these all possible. I will continue to laugh at the image in my head of Rabbi Cooper and Lori trying to get cookies from their foreheads to their mouths without their hands over zoom during our Lag Ba’Omer celebration. As some would say, "you had to be there.” There have been many things to be thankful for this year so far.
Yesterday we had our annual staff retreat. Having this time to think through our past year and prepare for 2020-2021 was an exciting and meaningful day. There was an article in ejewishphilanthropy back in May by Cindy Chazan in regards to upcoming planning for communities. She was “concerned that the urgent is driving out the important…and what the new future might look like.” As your staff professionals we want to ensure you that the future is just as important to us as the current. Therefore, we’d love to hear from you about what you feel your needs will be in the coming year.
From a fall Pharisee program guide to a Sukkah Village, and from a lunch and learn series to a new Rabbinic Intern, there are many things getting us excited for this upcoming year! Let us know if you would like to plan an event, co-chair a program or decorate a sukkah 😊 ! We cannot wait to see what this year can and will bring.
In Health,
Hallie Chandler
