Good afternoon and Happy Sunday!
What a week, I almost don't know where to begin.
I will start with the Rabbinic Search Process, since that is the most pressing. Tonight, we have three different Rabbinic Search Parlor Meetings for you:
7:30 PM: General Membership | Join Here
7:30 PM: Past Presidents | Join Here
8:15 PM: Teens in 9th - 12th grade | Join Here
I want people to go to all of these, but I want to particularly implore parents to try to have their high schoolers go. I believe that it is critically important that the teens know that we care about their opinions and also believe that the experience of going through a session like this is one that will stick with the students for years to come.
It was incredible to have 40 people in the sanctuary last Sunday for the eighth day of Passover and Yizkor. 40 people felt like a full house, but it also provided so much energy to the service. Our Yom HaShoah Commemoration was inspiring. If you were not able to join us, I highly recommend that you watch it now.
The past two days, our youth have been giving me joy and hope. Magic Moments continues to thrive. We have two sessions currently meeting on the Chapel Patio on Friday mornings with the potential to add a third session. Our Tot Shabbat and Oreo Minyan continue to meet outside most weeks on Shabbat. People love the opportunity to be together Our community loves the opportunity to be together outside following our covid protocols and it is really special to see people at the synagogue interacting with each other in a Jewish context.
There are a lot of great opportunities coming up. We will be sharing information about our Spring Celebration later on this week. This Wednesday night, we have a special, outdoor program commemorationg Yom Hazikaron and celebrating Yom Ha'atzmaut. Please rsvp and join us! Next Sunday, we will virtually have our Annual Torah Fund Brunch honoring Kelly Dash and Ellen Spector. On Tuesday, April 27th, we will be hosting An Evening with Bari Weiss. We expect over 200 people to be on the webinar - be one of them! On Friday, April 30th, we will have a Lag B'Omer celebration in the parking lot.
Even though more and more people are getting vaccinated, the numbers are rising once again in our community. Now that the eligibility of who can get vaccinated has expanded, please let me know if you would like to be on the list that we send opportunities to. As I have said in the past, I am someone that studies the covid numbers every day obsessively. The vaccines are really working and we can see this in the changes of the age distribution of who is getting covid right now.
We hope you are doing well the start of spring is starting to give you new energy. Looking forward to the next opportunity we have to see you in person! If there is anything that we can do to support you, please let me know!
