Shabbat Shalom,
I am combining our Shabbat service update with my Sunday Check-In for a special Friday email. I will be taking Sunday off to spend time with the family. Best wishes to all of the fathers out there and warm wishes to all that are missing their father right now.
The weather looks great tonight, we will be hosting services outdoors on the Chapel Patio. Feel free to park in the back. In honor of the weather and being outside, we will be adding kiddush back to our outdoor services and bringing out a bottle of scotch prior to services.
On Saturday, we will be holding a light kiddush (NY Bagels) outside in the circle following services. We look forward to seeing you at both. We need you! With it being a nice weather weekend in summer, many of our regular attendees will not be around and we can use your help to make a minyan.
This week we held our Annual Meeting. Thank you to all Board Members that have stepped up to serve our community, both outgoing and incoming. Being a board member is an important job and we are grateful for those that volunteer their time. A special thank you and congratulations to Joel Freedman on completing his term of service as President. Joel has demonstrated his leadership, creativity and flexibility the past two years, during a term that no one could have predicted. Welcome to Barb Bookman who is coming in as our new President. We know you will do great things!
The photo montage is available here. Our Annual Meeting booklet is available for viewing on issuu here (best quality, make sure to click full screen in the bottom right corner) or on the web here.. The meeting included the reelection of Doug Ress as an endowment trustee and the election of our new board members, but the most powerful moment to me was Lenore Forsted speaking to our community about our support of David and her during the past year. It was a testament to the power of being a part of a community. We know we don't always get it right, but this is a great model of what we can do.
Your weekly reminder - sign ups for baking or receiving challahs are due by Monday each week.
From Hallie: Are your kids at camp this summer? TBE-BE would like to send them a letter! Please email their name, camp address, and dates they will be attending here .
One of the benefits of zoom is that even while you are traveling, you can stay connected, so we hope you take advantage of being able to access services and events. We know that people have started traveling again and spending more time at the shore, so we wish you safe travels!
If we can do anything for you as it gets hot, please let us know! Summer camp begins here next week!
Have a great week,
Ken
