Our House, Your Home is our tagline. Our synagogue is a special place, filled with special people. We aren’t perfect, we make mistakes, but TBH-BE is a Belonging Place.

I have been part of the Inclusion Committee since it began back in 2015. I am so proud of what we have accomplished to date. As a committee, we look out for our congregants and want to help everyone feel welcomed and accepted as they are. Some of our endeavors have been things like creating the role of a Coordinator for Student Success in our Religious School. We also provide a sensory friendly space as an option for members to participate and enjoy busy holiday events. An assistive listening system was installed in our Chapel when we learned that many of our members couldn’t participate in services and activities due to auditory issues. Currently, we are looking for ways to make our sanctuary more accessible to individuals in wheelchairs.

Another wonderful program is our involvement in Keshet’s USCJ Leadership Project Summit. This is a year long program that equips synagogues with the skills and knowledge to build LGBTQ-affirming communities, create spaces in which LGBTQ Jews feel valued, and take action for LGBTQ rights. I am participating in this summit along with 3 of our senior staff, our Rabbinic Intern and our Volunteer Diversity and Outreach Coordinator.

Every situation is unique. If there is something that we can do or be doing better to meet your needs, please let me know. We value you being in our community.

Lastly, I’d like to bring your attention to our exciting rabbinic candidate visits which are coming soon.

We have many different events planned from Thursday-Friday on each of the weekends.
