Happy Sunday!

I saw this image recently on facebook (every so often, social media can be a source of positivity).

Our Rabbinic Search weekends are planting flowers that will pay dividends later on in the year. Thank you to everyone that has attended this weekend (and in December and in a few weeks).  Here is our evaluation link for this weekend. We encourage you to fill it out by Wednesday. Below, you will find links to videos from the weekend.

But I also think the image is really important for us as individuals and as a community right now. It is important for us to be planning opportunities now that will bring us joy later on in the year. We need celebrations and we need beauty. Our calendar in the spring is filled with opportunities for us to come together and to celebrate with one another. We are planning now for this. Our garden around the Chapel patio has already been planted with flowers for the spring for just this reason (thank you to our great Garden Commitee!)

Three events that I want to highlight:

MLK Day of Service and Tree of Life Art Show - Monday, January 17

Torathon - Saturday, January 29

Adult Retreat - February 18 - 20

Here are highlighted video links from the weekend. Even more uncut videos are available on our live stream page:

Friday Evening Service with short learning - uncut. Rabbi Englander speaks at the 27 minute mark for six minutes and then leads Maariv (evening) service .

Shabbat talk prior to Haftorah Reading - 2 minutes

Shabbat Sermon - 21 minutes

Shabbat Adult Education - 56 minutes

Town Hall Meeting - 1 hour

Once again, here is the evaluation link for Rabbi David Englander. There are so many members of our community that are being impacted by COVID right now, either by someone in their family having it or by being quarantined by an exposure. We are trying to deliver activities bags to our families with kids and challah/soup to those that are sick (we are in the process of restocking our kids bags because we have delivered so many in the past few weeks). If you would like to help with making deliveries, please let me know. If you are sick or in need, please continue to email Hallie or I to keep us updated and let us know how we can best help you.

Wishing you a healthy week,
