Happy Sunday!
I am pleased to share this letter from Sharon and Joel Freedman as this week's check-in.
But first, here is the link for this morning's scholar in residence session at 9:30 AM.
I want to share an opportunity to celebrate Rabbi and Lori this month on the 19th with our Cabaret. It will be filled with great musical acts by our community.
And now, here is the letter from Sharon and Joel about our special June weekend.

Dear Friends:
So, according to Joel, he assured me he was done. After living through two years of he being the president during COVID and then after finishing an exhausting and successful (baruch hashem) rabbi search – we both thought it was time for a vacation – but as Michael Corleone said: “Just when I thought I was out, they pulled me back in!”
But seriously . . . we are so honored and excited to be chairing the upcoming celebration for Rabbi and Lori Cooper taking place on June 10, 11 & 12, 2022. We are in the throes of planning a weekend full of opportunities for all of us to show our appreciation to the Coopers for their 30+ years of dedicated service and commitment to our Temple Beth Hillel – Beth El congregation.
The weekend schedule of events includes:
- A Friday night Kabbalah Shabbat service preceded by a lively Oneg Shabbat, followed by a family-friendly dinner
- Shabbat morning services filled with ruach and exciting surprises
- A Sunday evening party which will include a special musical guest performance by Craig Taubman (Lori’s famous and talented brother)
A formal invitation will be mailed soon detailing all the weekends’ events. We hope that you will join us for one or all of these special events.
In addition to the festivities, we are creating a tribute book that will be presented to the Coopers as a memento of their decades as part of our shul.
As we reflect on the Cooper’s time spent here at TBH-BE, we are sure that everyone will want to participate in honoring the legacy that Rabbi Neil and Lori Cooper have made and how they have impacted our lives. To that end, a Legacy Campaign has been initiated, which will add to our endowment funds. We hope you will consider becoming part of this vital plan to ensure the long-term financial health of our synagogue.
Thank you in advance for what we know will be an incredible outpouring of love and support for our Rabbi and Rebbetzin. We look forward to celebrating the legacy that the Cooper’s have thoughtfully planted while anticipating a vibrant future for our entire Temple Beth Hillel – Beth El community.
Warmest Regards
Sharon & Joel Freedman
