Good morning!
Quick (and rushed, so my apologies for any errors) email because we are getting ready for the event in memory of John Rothschild (z"l) taking place on our Chapel Patio. A few notes, and then sharing a message that we received about the gardens at the Chapel Patio.
1. The challah bake and take scheduled for today has been moved to Tuesday, May 31st at 5:00pm
2. Reminder: Thank you to all of those that have submitted their RSVPs, Contributions and Tributes. In order for us to have all necessary printed material in time, today is the last and final deadline for your name and tributes to get mentioned in our program and tribute book. Please understand any submissions after today will be listed under "list incomplete" and we will encourage you to send your tributes directly to the Cooper family. Please feel free to still RSVP for the events and submit any sponsorships and contributions that will be recognized in future emails.
3. It is wonderful to see so many 7th grade students here today. Our RS has really had a cultural change on this and the majority of the class stays together for the entire year.
Below is a note from Marcia Levinson.
Wishing you a great week, if we can be of help, please let me know.

Chapel Garden Chat,
You may have noticed that vegetables in our raised beds have been replaced by perennial flowers. My goal is to enhance our outdoor chapel space to be a peaceful, beautiful place in which we can pray, mingle, relax, enjoy and immerse ourselves.
Happenings:
First, about a month ago, the daffodils opened their friendly sunshine faces, followed by the varied colored tulips. Purple grape hyacinths tiptoed along the edges of the boxes. Allium popped up here and there and now there are many more green shoots promising more flowers to come. As summer arrives and presses on, old flowers will die and new and different ones emerge, hopefully until the fall. What will show itself next?
General tips:
Many squirrels were anticipating plentiful winter meals from the fall planted bulbs, but the black netting placed over the new plantings foiled most of the grabbers.
Thoughts:
Congregants, if any of you are thinning or digging in your garden this summer and want to dispose of some of your plants (perhaps hostas, lilies, irises or any other lovely variety) please consider bringing them to our garden. Let me know and I, together with anyone who desires to assist, will find a place to plant more potentially beautiful flowers.
Also, any comments, thoughts or suggestions are welcomed. Send any ideas to me to feature in our next Garden Chat. Learning more gardening as I go is fun and maybe we can all experience our garden and learn together. This perennial garden is just beginning–a work in progress.
Hope you visit and enjoy the flowers,
Marcia Levinson
