Shabbat Shalom,
I hope you are feeling the same excitement that I am. Between last night’s bbq with over 300 in attendance, including a number of prospective and new members, and our staff retreat on Wednesday, we are feeling energized and inspired over here. Our retreat focused heavily on the creation of connections and relationships. As Rabbi Witkovsky stated in his sermon last week, this won’t come overnight. It will take time, but there is so much potential of what we can do together with you. Last night was an incredible step in building those relationships. Thank you to the numerous volunteers and staff that helped with envisioning the event, setting up, welcoming and saying good bye to people, cleaning up, and grilling. Photos have been posted to our facebook page and to our instagram account. Please follow up there.
Here is Rabbi Witkovsky’s pre-Shabbat message to the community!
Tonight, Kabbalat Shabbat will be in the Holocaust Memorial Chapel and Chapel Patio. Please join Hazzan Rosner and Rabbi Witkovsky as we begin Shabbat this evening. We look forward to building off of last week's Shabbat and will have seating indoors and outdoors. Tomorrow, we will be back in the sanctuary.
We have had a number of requests for both in person and zoom attendance for Rabbi Witkovsky's class beginning on Tuesday evening and will provide both options. We will record it and make it available afterwards. We are recommending the in person experience if you are comfortable and able to.
We plan on bringing back our Challah bake and take program. Are you willing and able to help bake challot in our kitchen? Please contact Hallie Chandler. Wishing you a great weekend and a great week,
Ken
