I had the pleasure of traveling this weekend for a friend's daughter's Bat Mitzvah. It was a lovely weekend filled with friendship, community, food and tradition. I was reminded of three things:

Afternoon Everyone,
Thanks to Joan Trachtenberg, I was reminded that, a year ago our congregant David Forested came home from the hospital after a very extended stay due to Covid-19. 50+/-congregants stood socially distanced in our parking lot to welcome him home, signs and balloons in hand. It's moments like these that remind us of the importance of community.

An early Chag Sameach to you. In my world, I have always viewed Sukkot as the reward for making it through the High Holidays. Our teachers and staff get a moment of respite after the start of the year (not our clergy however). I have said before, Sukkot is the Jewish holiday that seems best suited for COVID-19, so it is also the holiday that is our reward for making it to this stage of the year as well.
